Like another reviewer mentioned, if I had to rate this story on sex/steam/erotica, I'd give it 4-5 stars. The skin on skin scenes were hot as hell, and very erotic. I eat that sh#@$% up!🤤🔥🔥 Except when they were having sex in the water--not sexy! Unless, of course, its in the shower. I've read a lot of books/seen a lot of TV where sex in the shower is #sexyAF. But, I digress.😂Now, when this author wrote about the loss of the heroine's brother, that was a beautiful piece of writing. I felt all the pain and grief down to my bones. It felt like I was the one who had actually lost a family member. And seeing this trio deal with their grief truly gripped me. I loved Lacey's emotional connection with both Tyler and Mason. I really thought that these characters' feelings for each other were deep and very real.As for the rest of the plot, I hated that Lacey lost her brother that way. When everything came out into the open about Rob's death, I was pissed. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that this person had everyone wrapped around their finger like some kind of villainous genius (they were not); especially trained police officers. And they were able to get the jump on everyone. Maybe if I had a true description of what that person actually looked like (trust me, it obviously factors in) and more of what their personality was like, I'd probably understand better. Rob's death just seemed senseless, and for the great cop, brother, and friend he appeared to be, he deserved better.Bottom line is, as hot and sexy as the romps in the sheets were, most of the focus was on that and not enough on the suspense. It was pretty good in the beginning, and I was actually chomping at the bit to find who, what, and why, but it sort of fizzled out. There just wasn't enough time devoted to it. This villain and their reasons for doing such things just didn't do it for me, and I was left feeling somewhat empty at the end. Sexy book though, but the suspense left me a little unsatisfied.
