This book really pulled at my heartstrings! I'm a sucker for characters overcoming emotional obstacles to find their happily ever afters, and this book had that in spades. It tells the story of a Master-turned-Daddy and his two wounded but incredibly resilient boys.Do note that there is mention and mild description of abuse in this book. Writing about survivors can be incredibly difficult. Often, I feel that the abuse itself is given center stage and that it takes away from the characters and their development. This book didn't have that problem at all, at least for me. The depictions of the abuse were tastefully done, and took a backseat to the emotional growth and revelations of the characters.I don't want to give away any of the plot points, but this book took several surprising turns regarding the relationship dynamics. Unconventional, indeed, and utterly fascinating. I loved this book - and the author's style - and I look forward to the next book in this universe!
